DIRECTIONS GIVEN BY THE CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR ROAD TRAFFIC UNDER REGULATION 88 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, 1984.
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT FOR DRAG FEST 2025
On Saturday 29th November 2025 and Monday 1st December 2025 the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD), will be holding a Caribbean Motor Racing Festival event, along the ABC Highway, between the Clyde Walcott (The Turning) and Norman Niles (Haggatt Hall) Roundabouts. As a result, a number of traffic changes will take effect from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.
ROAD CLOSURES
The following roads will be closed between the relevant times:
a) ABC Highway between the Norman Niles and Clyde Walcott Roundabouts.
b) Belle Road (East) from its junction with Lower Estate to the ABC Highway.
c) Belle Road (West) from its junction with My Lords Hill to the ABC Highway
TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS
a) Traffic travelling along the ABC Highway from the direction of the Emancipation Statue (Bussa), can turn left at the Norman Niles roundabout, travel along My Lords Hill unto Bridge Road, before turning right, onto station Hill and continuing to the Clyde Walcott Roundabout.
b) Alternatively, motorists can also turn right at the Norman Niles Roundabout, continue to the Salters Junction, turn left and continue to Charles Rowe Bridge before making a left turn onto Lower Estate Road.
c) Motorist travelling from the direction of The Everton Weekes Roundabout (Warrens) going south, can turn left at the Clyde Walcott Roundabout, continue to the junction of Lower Estate and Belle Road, before turning left and continuing onto Charles Rowe Bridge. Motorist can then make a right turn onto Salters road and continue to the Norman Niles Roundabout.
d) Alternatively, motorists can also turn right at the Clyde Walcott Roundabout, continue to the traffic lights at Station Hill, before turning left onto Bridge Road and continuing along My Lords Hill to the Norman Niles roundabout.
NO PARKING
No parking is allowed along the following roads between the relevant times:
a) ABC Highway
b) Waterford Road
c) The Turning
d) Salters
e) Belle Road
PARK AND RIDE
A park and ride service will be provided from 8:00 am from the following locations:
a) Queen’s College Secondary School
b) Garfield Sobers Sports Complex
c) The Botanical Gardens
d) Sky Mall (Available only on Monday 1st December 2025)
OFFENCES
Any person who contravenes these rules or fails to comply with any order given by a member of The Barbados Police Service in uniform, is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction, to a fine of five hundred dollars ($500BDS) or to imprisonment for a term of three (3) months.
These rules do not apply to vehicles used by The Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Defence Force, the Barbados Fire Service, or any emergency vehicle.
Police Officers will also be deployed on the day, to assist with all traffic management.
