The Tourism Liaison Office is located at Police Headquarters, Roebuck Street, Bridgetown. 

 

 

Functions and Responsibilities

 The Tourism Liaison Office assists with providing an atmosphere of safety and security all all tourists or visitors to Barbados. It provides those individuals with the required assistance when they experience events which threaten their wellbeing. In order to fulfil its role, the office collaborates with all major stakeholders in the tourism industry namely:-

  • The Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA)
  • The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA)
  • The Diplomatic Corps
  • Owners of Guest Accommodations – Hotels, Apartments, Condominiums, Guest Houses, Villas
  • Guest Services Businesses – Tour Services
  • Victims of Crime

In addition to the above named entities, the Tourism Liaison Office provides the following services:-

  • Crime prevention advice and crime surveys
  • RBPF representative on the BHTA Crime and Safety Committee and any others as deemed necessary
  • Compiles, collates and maintains of up-to-date records of crime, sudden deaths and any other matter that adversely or have the potential to adversely affect tourists/visitors.
  • Monitors and deploys  personnel in places frequented by visitors
  • Liaises with Stations/Formations/Victims of Crime

  • Tourism Home Accommodation Standards Committee
  • Ministry of Tourism Committee for Transportation Standards
  • Tourism Advisory Council Committee
  • Cruise Tourism Task Force
